Introduction to the department of dermatology and venereology
The department of dermatology and venereology was founded in 1979. As one of the national leaders in dermatology and venereology, it’s the key discipline of “1025 plan” of Health Department in Guangdong Province, the Clinical Specialty of Guangdong Province and the National Skin Care Cosmetic Base.In March 2023, the department merged with the Department of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery to form the "Department of Dermatology and Plastic Aesthetic".
Our department is recognized globally for its innovative treatments, advanced technology and translational research. From basic science to clinical research, we are constantly pushing scientific boundaries and earning worldwide recognition for our discoveries. We have established cosmetics tested laboratories, high-precision and advanced STD study laboratories, cosmetic skin disease diagnostic organization and new drug clinical trial base with FDA accreditation. In the past decade, we have over 100 scientific research projects obtain grants from government agencies, including National Natural Science Foundation. More than 1500 research articles were published by our clinicians and physician scientists.
